The City of Sturgis is making it easier for visitors and residents to stay informed while they are in the Sturgis area. The City recently teamed up with NIXLE, a community information service designed to deliver important and timely information to residents in the area using the latest technology. Nixel.com
The NIXLE service alerts users to public safety threats, developing situations, and community events via web, E-mail, and cell phone text messages. Users determine the type of alerts they get when they register with the service.
NIXLE is completely free, simple, and trusted. All information from NIXLE comes from authenticated sources. To get signed up for information alerts users can simply go to www.nixle.com and register or go to the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally web site and click on the NIXLE button.
The next time you are in the Sturgis area make sure you register at NIXLE to receive alerts that will keep you informed of developing weather situations, emergency road closures and traffic alerts. You can register for up to six locations at one time so you can be informed all the way from your house to ours.
