May 14, 2010
2010 marks the 70th anniversary of the legendary Sturgis Motorcycle Rally and it is sure to be a spectacular celebration. This is an event that is rich in history and is clearly the most significant motorcycle gathering in the world.
For many motorcyclists, the amazing riding available in the Black Hills of South Dakota is truly the primary attraction. Riders enjoy beautiful landscapes that include the high plains, stunning canyons and significant historical landmarks. Still, when the riding day is done, the City of Sturgis remains the emotional and geographic heart of the event.
As the hub of activity for the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, there is always plenty of activity for riders to enjoy in the City of Sturgis. Great food and drink are abundant in many areas and great entertainment is always a big part of the fun. A stroll down Main Street is the experience of a lifetime for any rider.
New this year, Harley-Davidson will move its 2010 rally experience to two all-new locations in the heart of Sturgis, S.D., where the Motor Company will celebrate the 70th Annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally with customers and motorcycle enthusiasts August 6-14, 2010. “Right smack in the middle of Sturgis seems like the ideal place for Harley-Davidson to spend the week,” said Steve Piehl, Harley-Davidson Director, Consumer Events Marketing.
Another new event for 2010 is the Garage Shop Fabricator showcase on the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally Expo Lot. This year, FFJournal, the magazine for today’s fabricating and forming technology, will bring the passion and pride of the manufacturing industry to the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. At the FFJournal tent on Lazalle Street, the next generation of fabricators and formers can meet industry innovators and learn fabricating techniques.
